The Privacy Policy of CUKIBO

This Privacy Policy, together with our terms and conditions of use as set out within our Terms and Conditions page applies when you use our website cukibo.com (the “Website”) or visit a site that uses our advertising technology. This policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us. Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it. For the purpose of the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR), the data controller is CUKIBO Limited (trading as CUKIBO AG) located at Feldstrasse 16, Lachen 8853, Switzerland. We are also following the provisions of the Swiss Federal Data Protection Act (DSG) and Federal Data Protection Act (VDSG).

Data types we collect on users of our website

Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymous data).

  1. Information you give us – You may give us information about you by filling out forms on the Website or by corresponding with us by email, phone or otherwise.   5. Location Information - We may also collect information about your location, such as the IP Address of the device you access our Website from. This site or product includes IP2Location LITE data available from https://lite.ip2location.com 

  6. Marketing and Communications Data includes your preferences in receiving marketing from us and your communication preferences.

We do not collect your financial information! This is collected and stored by third-party payment processors.

Where we need to collect personal data by law, or under the terms of a contract we have with you and you fail to provide that data when requested, we may not be able to perform the contract we have or are trying to enter into with you (for example, where you do not provide suitable delivery instructions to provide you with goods or services). In this case, we may have to cancel a product or service you have with us but we will notify you if this is the case at the time.

How we process the data

We collect, use, disclose, retain and dispose of your personal data in a proper manner, for authorized purposes and take appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, or unauthorized destruction. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password that enables you to access certain parts of the Website, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.

Places where your data is stored or communicated to

CUKIBO transfers, processes and stores information about our users on servers located in a couple of countries. Information collected within the European Economic Area (“EEA”) and Switzerland is always stored with us and our partners within EEA and Switzerland only. CUKIBO may also subcontract processing to, or share your information with third parties located in countries other than your home country. Your personal information may, therefore, be subject to privacy laws that are different from those in your country of residence. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.

How your data may be used by us

We use data held about you in the following ways:

The emails we send to you fall into two categories:

  1. “Marketing Messages” - Emails which provide you with information about offers, new products, and other items that we think may interest you or CUKIBO customers generally. You will only receive these emails if you actively sign up to our newsletter and then confirm that subscription via an opt-in confirmation. 

  2. "Service Messages" - Emails that we may send concerning activity on your CUKIBO account, specifically: 

    1. To remind you of unordered items in your online basket

    2. To remind you of product creations that you have abandoned 

    3. Surveys to capture your feedback on orders you have placed with CUKIBO

    4. Surveys to capture your feedback on contact with our customer service team

While we do our best to act on your preferences as soon as we reasonably can, please be aware that it may take up to 14 days for changes to your preferences concerning Service Messages to take effect.

Please note that emails that we need to send you relating directly to your orders and purchases from CUKIBO (such as order and dispatch confirmation emails), and emails which notify you of changes to our Terms of Use, or to policies we apply under our Terms of Use, are unaffected by your preferences for newsletters and Service Messages; you cannot opt-out of receiving these emails.

We may also use data held about you for another purpose, but only where such purpose is communicated to you at the point of data collection.

Your data is kept only for the time necessary to provide the service or product you request, or to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy.
