Oliver's
Magical Journey
in the
Oliver jumped out of bed at the crack of dawn, eager to tackle his new construction set. "I'm gonna build the biggest, most epic tower ever! Mum's jaw will drop to the floor when she sees it!" he thought, zooming to his toy box faster than a superhero on a mission.
Just imagining a tower taller than his Mum's filled him with bubbling excitement.
He stacked piece after piece, his hands moving like lightning as he brought his masterpiece to life.
"It's almost done! Just one more piece on top and..." he whispered, his heart pounding.
"What? No way! It doesn't fit? How can it not fit?" Oliver grumbled, his face scrunching up like he had just bitten into a sour lemon.
"Maybe if I twist it this way? I'll just give it a nudge,"
he thought, determination blazing in his eyes.
He gave the stubborn piece a hard push,
his frustration bubbling like a
volcano about to erupt.
"Hello, Oliver!" murmured a tranquil voice right behind him, causing Oliver to leap into the air and let out a yell that could scare a lion.
"What the—Who are you?! And how do you know my name?" he blurted out, his heart pounding like a jackhammer.
A sudden noise jolted Oliver from his grumbling. Crack! Rustle! The sound of snapping branches and rustling leaves made him freeze in his tracks.
"Hello, Oliver!" boomed a deep voice, causing him to jump and spin around, his eyes as big as frisbees.
"You know what, Tree? This actually feels... good," Oliver admitted. Then he muttered to himself, "Hmm... breathing really does help. But I still feel a bit wobbly inside, like jelly on a plate..."
"I understand, Oliver," the wise Tree replied with a rustling chuckle. "I've been standing here doing this for ages - I'm quite the expert! Now, try moving your arms like my branches swaying in the wind."
Oliver was having such a blast waving his arms and balancing like a swaying tree that he didn't even notice he had an audience! The forest had sprung to life with creatures big and small, all hopping, jumping, and twirling around playfully.
"You know, Oliver, sometimes you've just gotta move to shake off those bad feelings! Jump! Stretch! Wiggle those worries away!" squeaked a tiny, fluffy squirrel, bouncing around like a little acrobat inviting him to join the fun.
Oliver tried to calm down, letting his body relax like a noodle slipping into a warm bowl of soup. He took deep breaths, filling his belly like a big balloon.
"Breathe in from your belly, then let the air out," the Rock advised in its deep, soothing voice. "Calm and peaceful. Think of nothing and do nothing. Just sit still."
"Mum! How did you get here?" Oliver exclaimed, blinking in surprise as he woke up snuggled in a warm embrace while she was holding a book and chuckling softly.
"Get where, silly goose?" Mum replied with a gentle laugh, softly brushing his messy hair out of his eyes. "You drifted off right in the middle of our story. Feeling better now?"
"Next time you feel angry, we can read this book again. It's always here to help," Mum said softly as she wrapped Oliver in a warm hug.
Oliver grinned from ear to ear. "Thanks, Mum, but guess what? I've got some super-secret tricks up my sleeve now to tackle that pesky anger monster! Some really cool friends taught me," he replied with a mischievous wink. "And if something seems way too tough, I'll definitely ask for help from you, or maybe even a wise old owl!"
Just then, a gentle, warm breeze swirled through the room, playfully ruffling Oliver's hair like invisible fingers. It felt just like a cosy hug from the Calm Forest.
"Thank you, my friends!" Oliver whispered.

Read all of Oliver's adventures discovering different feelings!
"Nooooo! This tower is making me go bananas!!!" Oliver hollered, his face turning as red as a fire engine as he stomped his feet like a mad drummer, sending fallen blocks flying.
His head felt like it was about to explode, and his clenched fists shook with frustration.
"This is so unfair! I'll never build a tower again!" he declared, throwing his hands up in exasperation.
Oliver sprinted toward the door, but - crash! - he smacked straight into a giant flower pot that seemed to have appeared out of thin air, stubbornly blocking his escape. Still huffing and puffing like a steam engine, he didn't think twice before giving the pesky pot a hearty kick to clear his path.
"This is so weird," Oliver muttered. "Why do I feel like I've been spinning in circles, and why is my skin tingling like a million tiny ants are marching all over me?"
"Hey! What's going on? Where am I?" he shouted, his face flushed
like a ripe tomato, eyes wide with astonishment at the
bizarre surroundings unfolding before him.
"This isn't my room!"
"Hello, Oliver!" murmured a tranquil voice right behind him, causing Oliver to leap into the air and let out a yell that could scare a lion.
"What the—Who are you?! And how do you know my name?" he blurted out, his heart pounding like a jackhammer.
"Welcome to the Calm Forest, Oliver! What brings you here?" continued the mysterious creature.
"Why am I here? YOU should tell ME why I'm here!" Oliver erupted at the talking owl, his face flipping from surprise to blazing anger in a heartbeat.
"Ah, I sense a whirlwind of anger swirling inside you. It's okay to feel angry sometimes. Feelings are like birds—they come and go. But it's how we handle them that truly matters, my friend," the owl said soothingly.
"No way am I chatting with a talking owl!" Oliver thought, rubbing his eyes in disbelief. "I must've knocked my head and now I'm seeing things."
"Oh dear me, I forgot to introduce myself! I'm Orlo, the guide of the Calm Forest," the wise owl said with a gentle hoot. "You're here to learn, Oliver. We're going to help you navigate all this anger."
"We?! Who's 'we'?" Oliver asked, his voice softening as curiosity began to creep in, casting a suspicious glance at the owl.
Oliver stomped through the forest, grumbling and waving his arms like he was shooing away a flock of imaginary birds.
"Birds... right! I wish these feelings would just fly off already, just like birds! But no—they're sticking around like pesky pigeons that won't take a hint!" he muttered.
The forest creatures peeked out from behind trees, watching Oliver with wide-eyed curiosity as he passed by. Every so often, a warm breeze would lift leaves into swirling dances, and birds would glide overhead, carefree and unbothered.
"Who said that? Where... where are you?" Oliver blurted out, his heart thudding like a bass drum.
"I'm right here in front of you, Oliver!" replied the tall, wise Tree, shaking its branches with a gentle sway.
"Oh, terrific! First a talking owl, now a chatty tree!" Oliver thought, rolling his eyes skyward in disbelief.
"Oliver, come breathe with me. In and out, slow and steady - just like the breeze whispering through my leaves. It'll help you feel lighter, I promise," the Tree said soothingly. "Now, lift your hands above your head and raise your right knee up and to the side. Touch your left leg with your right foot. Stand tall, just like a tree."
"This is actually pretty fun!" Oliver laughed, wobbling slightly as he balanced in the tree pose. He began to breathe deeply, matching his inhales and exhales with the gentle sway of the Tree's branches.
"This is amazing!" Oliver shouted, his laughter bubbling up and echoing through the forest like joyous music. As his giggles bounced between the tall trees, Oliver felt a delightful shiver run down his spine, like a cool, refreshing breeze on a sunny day.
"Whew! I'm exhausted!" Oliver exclaimed, plopping down beside a big, comfy rock and leaning against it. "But jumping around was so much fun!" he added. He felt a sudden urge to leap up and start bouncing and waving his arms all over again.
"Easy there, Oliver!" rumbled a deep voice just as he was about to spring up. Oliver froze, his eyes darting around in surprise. "Down here, buddy!" said the Rock he was leaning against, giving a gentle shake. "Sometimes doing absolutely nothing is exactly what you need. Just sit back and let your mind rest, like I do."
"Even the most energetic adventurers need a break sometimes. Just sit, breathe, and watch the clouds drift by."
"Wow, sitting still feels... surprisingly awesome," Oliver admitted, a hint of wonder in his voice. "I don't feel like an angry volcano anymore. Thanks, Rock! This actually feels great!" He took another deep breath and let out a long "haaaaaa," sounding like a contented sigh from a sleepy bear.
The Rock rumbled softly. "See? Sometimes doing nothing does everything."
Oliver grinned. "You might be onto something there. Who knew rocks could be so smart?"
Back on his feet, Oliver felt like the whole forest had flipped a magic switch. Suddenly, he could hear birds chirping and tiny animals squeaking.
These cheerful forest sounds were a complete opposite from the booming drumbeats that usually pounded in his ears when anger stormed in. In those fiery moments, he couldn't hear a thing - not even Mum's soothing voice - and that sometimes scared him more than monsters under the bed.
"What brings you here, my dear boy?" gurgled a gentle voice. Oliver looked around, eyes wide, and realised the Stream was talking to him! Without hesitation, he spilled the whole story - how his epic tower took a nosedive, how his anger exploded like a volcano, and how he ended up in this magical forest, chatting with a wise old owl.
The Stream listened quietly, its waters swirling thoughtfully.
"You know," it murmured kindly,
"you don't have to do everything
all by yourself. Sometimes,
it's okay to ask for help.
Even streams need rocks
and banks to guide them —
we all need a little flow in life!"
"Hop aboard this raft, Oliver!" the Stream gurgled with a cheerful splash. "I'll show you what it's like to go with the flow!"
"Well, okay!" Oliver grinned, hopping onto the raft that bobbed gently like a rubber duck in a bathtub. As the raft drifted lazily downstream, Oliver laid back and gazed up at the fluffy clouds shaped like butterflies, dinosaurs, and dragons. A peaceful smile spread across his face. All his anger had melted away like ice cream on a hot day. He didn't even feel a tiny bit scared anymore; he was just floating along, carefree and happy.
"This feels so much better!" Oliver exclaimed, his eyes sparkling like stars. "I wonder what's next on this adventure?"
The raft drifted gently downstream, the river embracing it like a cosy blanket while soft ripples danced around.
"Hey there, Oliver! How's the view from down here?" chirped a little bird in a voice as cheerful as a whistle. "You seemed pretty down earlier. Spill the beans! Sometimes talking about it makes all the difference."
"Well, my super-cool tower kept crashing down, and it made me so mad I could've screamed louder than a fire truck!" Oliver admitted. "But now, after chatting with you and all my forest friends, I feel a gazillion times better!"
"See, Oliver? Letting it all out helps those grumpy feelings float away like leaves on the water!" the bird twittered with a wink.
Oliver felt as peaceful as a leaf floating on a gentle breeze, drifting along on the raft as it bobbed with the stream. He dipped his fingers into the cool water, watching tiny ripples dance away. Ahead, the mighty Sea sparkled under the sun, so vast that the stream seemed like a mere trickle in comparison.
Everything around him was wonderfully still. Only a playful gust decided to stir things up, twirling leaves into the air like nature's own confetti.
"Wow, this is so calm," Oliver whispered, a serene smile spreading across his face. "I feel like all my anger has finally floated away!" He took a deep breath, filling his lungs with the fresh, salty air that tasted like pure freedom.
The sky above was sprinkled with soft, fluffy clouds in all sorts of funny shapes - one looked like a giant bunny chasing a carrot, another like a whale wearing a top hat.
"Maybe all I needed was to let go..."Oliver whispered to himself, taking a deep, satisfying breath of the salty sea air as a gentle breeze playfully ruffled his hair.
"One cloud, two clouds, three clouds, four..." he began counting, his eyelids growing as heavy as rocks. The raft swayed gently, rocking him like a cosy hammock, and before he knew it, he drifted off to sleep with a big, happy grin on his face.
"Yeah!" Oliver nodded eagerly, his eyes darting around the familiar room. "Wait a minute - was it all a dream? But it felt so real!" he thought, memories of talking owls, dancing trees, and playful squirrels swirling in his mind.
A big grin spread across his face as he remembered all the wild adventures and the important things he learned. Maybe, just maybe, the magic was real after all!
Mum tilted her head, a curious smile on her face. "Who are you thanking, honey?"
Oliver chuckled softly. "Oh, just some awesome buddies who know a thing or two about calming down."
They laughed, and Oliver felt lighter than a feather. He knew that no matter what, he wasn't alone - and that made him feel ready to build the biggest, coolest tower ever without a hint of anger!
As he snuggled closer to his Mum, he thought, "Maybe magic is real after all - or maybe, just maybe, the magic is inside me."
